Elisa & Paul

The more wedding commissions I shoot the more I like non-destination, relaxed gatherings where the emphasis is on friends/family having a great time. I first met Elisa and Paul last Nov in London and we were immediately on the same page with ideas and approach. They are a terrific couple and were very generous with me, right from the start establishing that ‘known you for years’ feel to our various chats and meetings.  Working with them from start to finish was a genuine pleasure.

After a service in Warnham church in West Sussex the reception was at the family home nearby. The gorgeous property offered enough space for the drinks reception on the front lawn, with the marquee next to the house housing the dining area and ‘chill out’ zone – no traditional wedding breakfast, they had a classy afternoon tea. Effortless, comfortable, personal and very memorable, it’s one of my favourite shoots of the year. Laura & Matt, Layer Marney Tower

Minimum of formality, total access with a great gathering of people and a very laid back couple. That pretty much sums up Laura and Matt’s wedding recently with the service at Coggeshall Church and reception at Layer Marney Tower. I wanted to post this set now because their book has just gone to the printers and it really does encapsulate the way I work showing a very genuine set of shots obtained while standing back and simply watching as it unfolded… These are some of my personal highlights from the day :
